ECD - Educarers Allowance Scheme

 

The ECD allowances for Educarers is a pro-poor approach. It is a response to the need to assist poor and marginalised rural and urban communities and ease the burden of parents who are unable to pay fees for their children to attend ECD centres.

Who qualifies?

  • Educarers who are trained in Basic Curriculum ECD Training Course working in community based ECD centres in poor and marginalised communities.
  • Who is Namibian citizen age between 18-59 years and not receipt of any other government grant, such as veterans grant and/or pension allowances, (excluding disability grant) and with no monthly income of N$1500.00.

How to apply

Educarers to receive allowance are selected and recommended by Constituency Allowance Selection and Recommendation Committee and approval of Educarers to go on allowance scheme shall be granted by the Chief Regional Officers upon submission of all the required documents and upon recommendation from the Constituency Allowance Selection and Recommendation Committees.

Registration period

Every day Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 17:00 PM

Required documents

  1. Certified copy of birth certificate
  2. certified copy of Identification Document
  3. Two copies of a recently taken photograph
  4. Reference letter from the ECD Centre/Parent Committee confirming that the Educarers is employed there and for how long.
  5. Police Clearance Certificate as required by the Child Care and
  6. Protection Act 2015 to ensure that the Educarers does not have
  7. previous record of violence, child abuse or any other crime
  8. Certified copies educational qualifications

Benefit/service provided

Range from N$1500 to N$2500 depending on education attainment
