Directorate of Social Protection Services

 

The Directorate is responsible for the administration of Old-Age Grants, Disability Grants and Funeral Benefits to those who are eligible for Old-Age and Disability Grants, as well as Funeral Benefits.

The Directorate has three divisions that provide the following services:

Division: Social Assistance

Services provided by the Directorate include registering eligible applicants for Old-Age and Disability grants, verifying beneficiaries' existence, facilitating funeral benefits for all grant recipients, effecting changes regarding beneficiary details, payment reinstatements, appointment of procurators, and pay point changes, as well as capturing and updating data on the Integrated Social Assistance System (ISAS)."

Division: Grants Management Reconciliation

The division facilitates the payment of old-age grants for individuals over the age of sixty and disability grants for those aged between 16 and 60, certified by a State Medical Officer. Additionally, funeral benefits are provided to all beneficiaries of old-age and disability grants. Cash-Based Transfers are also facilitated to identified beneficiaries. Furthermore, the Directorate develops appropriate processes to reconcile fund accounts with contracted agents.

Division: Integrated Management System

The Division provides services including the development of appropriate systems and processes for managing social assistance programs, conducting means testing and evaluation, managing the database of the Social Protection Information System, and developing protocols and cooperation agreements with other OMAs.
