Directorate of Administration and General Services
The Directorate is responsible for enhancing an enabling environment for a high-performance culture through effective human resources management and development, financial management, information technology, procurement management, fleet management and other auxiliary services.
The Directorate has four divisions and one sub-division that provide the following services:
Division: General Services
The Division offers a comprehensive range of support services to ensure smooth operations. This includes providing transport services, managing procurement and stock, overseeing asset and logistics management, handling construction and renovation projects for offices and community centres, conducting general maintenance tasks, managing records, offering secretarial services, and handling public relations duties.
Division: Finance
The Division is responsible for managing financial matters within the Ministry. This includes preparing and monitoring the Ministerial budget, controlling expenditure in alignment with appropriated funds, preparing reports on budget execution, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations governing state finance, processing staff-related expenditures and allowances, handling supplier and creditor payments, reconciling accounts, managing revenue collection, banking, and reporting, as well as preparing reports to the Auditor General and responding to audit queries directed to the Accounting Officer.
Division: Human Resource Management
The Division offers comprehensive human resource services, including administration and development, managing industrial relations, and promoting employee wellness.
Division: Information Technology
The Division delivers comprehensive IT services, ensuring the provision of adequate hardware, software, and network infrastructure. This includes ICT support, backup, and maintenance, preparing all equipment for end-users, managing and monitoring network performance, administering and monitoring office systems, managing supplies and licenses, providing on-site and remote technical support, offering IT training to staff, monitoring and updating the website, and providing day-to-day helpdesk support.
Subdivision: Internal Audit
The Subdivision is responsible for examining and assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of the Ministry's governance architecture and risk management with a view to strengthening internal controls.
