Disability Grant

 

The program aims to ensure the well – being of people with disability by providing State Disability Grants. Benefits from the social and economic development of Namibia by means of measures that maintain and strengthen the coping capacities of individuals and families, especially for people who have needs and those who are poor, disadvantaged, or vulnerable.

Who qualifies?

  • People aged 16-59 years and medically diagnosed by a state doctor as being temporarily or permanently disabled.
  • Namibian citizenship or Namibian permanent residence if not born in Namibia.

How to apply

  • Application for Disability Grant must be made in person at any District or constituency office of the Ministry.
  • The official fill in the applicant application form, collect and capture/scan the applicant documents.
  • The applicant is issued with acknowledgement of receipt.

Registration period

Everyday Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 17:00 PM

Required documents

  1. Certified copy of applicant’s Birth Certificate
  2. Certified copy of applicant’s ID Certified copy of citizenship certificate if non-Namibian
  3. Certified copy of Marriage certificate, if applicant is/was a married woman.
  4. Medical report (s) completed by State Medical Doctor

Benefit/service provided

Monthly cash of N$1600 per beneficiary

Cash mobile payment mode, commercial banks, Nampost Smart, Card Savings Account, and Institution of care.
